PLACET – Supporting Placement Companies in European Training

SUMMARY

The PLACET project, supported by the Grundtvig Partnerships program, aimed to contribute to the quality of internships undertaken within a mobility context, focusing on the role of host institutions. It sought to understand their needs, perspectives, and expectations in order to subsequently propose concrete tools and support to facilitate internship mentoring.

ACTIVITIES

  • Questionnaires and group interviews aimed at identifying and sharing challenges and best practices;
  • International meetings featuring discussion sessions;
  • Videos showcasing best practices;
  • Checklists and brochures for institutions and mentors hosting internships, covering topics such as interculturality and communication, assessment and certification (Europass and ECVET), internship plans, and monitoring.

RESULTS & OUTCOMES

  • Interviews with Internship Host Organizations (videos)
  • Participating entities: Lisbon City Council, CCILE – Portuguese-Spanish Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Clara Garden Restaurant, Mediar – National Association for Sociocultural Mediation, Irradiare, and Valentim Quaresma
    Questions asked: Why does your organization host internships? What are the advantages?; How do you prepare for the intern’s arrival?; How do you monitor the internships?; What steps do you take to ensure the internship contributes to the intern’s professional development?
